I have R D Sharma as well, is quitting Das Gupta and starting trigonometry from RD Sharma a good idea? (you mentioned that it was enough for trig)

Hi Aman, during your early stages did you solve each and every sum from RD Sharma or some typical problems only. RD Sharma 11 and 12 are great, but time consuming too. A little advice in this. Just 1 year left(Actually less than one year now). Never solved RD Sharma in 11

Well I never solved Rd sharma But I have seen that book and I believe it's the beat book for fundamentals What I would suggest you is to solve the "solved examples" yourself at least to get an idea

hello bhaiya. i am a student of class 11 and i have given my board exams in march 2014.i am really addicted for jee advanced(i never thought of mains).when i sit to try to try and solve problems of past jee papers i found themto be a cake walk(not for maths).but when i solve aieee questions i am not able to solve it.they are long but easy.so what should i do.i want rank 1 but my parents say that you cant even qualify.i got 9.6 cgpa and people are making a fun of me.i want to clear rmo but when i see the paper,it is full of no theory and polynomials which are not a part of jee and i am blank.all people say that all those who are in top 100 air have a god gifted mind.i only study for 8 hours a day so what should i do as i have dreams of topping iitjee and getting a gold medal for india in physics olympiad.

Hi Aman Bhaiya! I am preparing for 2015 and i have purchased plancess material recently.. Could u plz share your reviews on plancess material and is it better than gmp from fiitjee... Siddhikant Mishra

Hi Aman , how much did you score in fiitjee AITS's part tests .I scored only 163 , just wanted to know if i really have a chance at clearing the jee advanced with a decent rank.

Hello bhaiya I m varsha it true bhaiya that in maths practice means learning steps? In which we discover new things ways to solve which approach to take for which questions? And while solving a jee past year ques we have to recall as well as relate those things to the question at hand. Is learning steps the only way to master maths? My maths is weakest and chem is good .phy is in between. Bhaiya while u were giving ur iit in examination hall when u saw a maths questions what did u think-(i have seen this question in the past, here mod is involved so I do this that..did u first have to think about it or was it easy for u just at d first sight) as there are several questions to be solved in a limited time how didi u approach for them.? Also how did u study maths(solved the examples or attempted them first without seeing solution) maths decide rank so I want to improve it

Hi Aman, I'm a JEE 16 aspirant (Non-attending school) and sadly i wasted a few months of 11th std but now im serious and back in the game. I just wanted to know which book is better - RD SHARMA 11th and 12th CBSE or RD SHARMA FOR IIT ? BTW all people say that RD SHARMA FOR IIT is actually preferable for JEE MAINS as it doesnt have the higher level Questions for JEE ADVANCED! And as per my teachers at classes suggestion i refer to A DAS GUPTA for JEE level problems and it is time consuming. So how did you manage to solve all books up till JEE level.?? Reply quick pls and Thanks for this amazing blog! :D

Hey, I am a JEE '15 aspirant. I am a bit weak at maths and sometimes find it difficult to tackle the really tough and tricky problems of JEE level. Can you suggest a book that could help me improve my problem solving technique in a short time? P.S. Is it worth solving subjective questions in maths?

bhaiya ( pls let me call u ) i am giving jee this year . i am not gud in coordinate geometery . i want to excel in it . i follow arihant in maths .do i solve some more solved eg or eg given in between introductory ex pls help i am in big dilemma

Hey Aman. I am in class 10 right now . I have to finish my boards on 19 march. I want to prepare for jee. I am really slow at maths and doing questions from A das gupta is very difficult for me.Pls give some tips to improve problem solving skills and speed.

Hello Vaiya, I have a serious problem, In my locality there is no good faculty for the iit preparation .Currently I am in Class XI ,West-Bengal Board,Now the main problem is that my maths preparation is totally zero compared to the Advanced Paper Level, I have Only one year in hand [jee-16] , how can I boost my level to the iit level? now my board syllabus has a huge difference with respect to the iit's.Please help me. Thankx

Aman Sir, is it advisable to solve cengage maths for algebra and coordinate geometry? Also I get booklets for each topic from coaching. So should I give preference to the booklets or to the reference books? When I am not able to solve.. I get frustrated and close the book.. This has increased my backlogs. Specially in maths..for me, maths is toughest nut to crack in jee.. And I am tensed. .!!! Please help

Hello sir I am a jee aspirant and wish to make it big like u I am going to join coaching classes this year in . It might be time wasting for you but can make my life can you please give me a list of all the books that you did for jee advance. I have read your blog thoroughly too please sir it will be of utmost importance to me i want the same books which u did

Hello bhaiya, I wanted to know that do the toppers like you ,of course ,solve the problems, particularlyin maths, using the traditional methods, like the normal ones we use in board exams.or do you use some other methods. Also are those different methods preplanned or you think of them on the spot as per the question.

Hi Aman Bhaiya I m a jee 2017 aspirant..........plz tell me which is having more weightage in jee advanced maths; Co-ordinate geometry or permutation and combination Plz also tell me if there is a chance for jee 2017 to be subjective?

Your first question - Well, coordinate geometry is a module, while PnC is a single chapter from algebra. Now tell me which one do you think should have more weightage? For your second question - give me 1 reason for me to know if JEE would be objective or subjective ?

Hi aman, if u could tell me if jee 2017 can be subjective or not I will be highly obliged..... Also can u tell me what is importance/requirement of solving past year papers of iitjee???? For example - 37 years of iitjee by arihant publications......

Hi Aman, I am going to take jee in 2016. Can you pls guide me on how to study Permutation and combination, and probablity. In 90% of cases I dont get correct answers in this. I have met some people who without knowing the proper concept choose a correct answer. They say that there are some tricks for these chapters. Do you have any idea about this? And kindly suggest me a good book for these topics.

Secondly, writing a paper pen mode jee or taking up online jee.. which would be a better choice? Please reply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. (I am a fiitjee student)

Hello Aman bhai.I am a JEE 2017 aspirant.I have joined 2 year RSM program.I want to know how to make full use of study modules given by fiit-jee because there are a lot of questions which use concepts that are not introduced till the time I get those modules for examples in straight lines there are questions which use inverse trigonometric functions that are not introduced to me and there are whole lot of questions from different topics with the same issue.I am worried as it kills my precious time and labor.Although MCQ seems to be relevant bt subjective ones are a nightmare. And I also wanted to know if SK goyal is a relevant book for algebra or not.Right now I am using HCV for physics, arihant calculus,SL loney trigonometry, coordinate,SK goyal algebra.RD Sharma, for maths and NCERT chemistry,RCM,LG Wade for chemistry.I dedicate daily 4-5 hrs on my preparations.Am I going in the right path??Please guide me bhai and suggest if there is any room for improvement.

Respected Sir, My son is preparing for iit jee 2017. My query was that if he has 2 basic and 4 advanced books how many of these should he solve at home for a chapter which has been recently taught in coaching class. ( not as revision) thanks

the picture (above in this post) that you've posted , the mathematics books are entirely different from the ones you have recommended in you post ( must but books for mathematics ) . Which books did you go through ?

Aman, Appearing this year for jee. I got a query TMH questions were easy to solve...no issues there.. but sometimes the FIITJEE AITS questions in maths trouble a lot..nd they r not solved that easily... Any advise? Or is fiitjee aits just way more difficult than jee especially in maths? Please help ..

Hi Aman bhaiya. I am in class 11 moving to class 12 . I have solved the Allen module completely so I wanted to ask which book should I solve completely(11th topics and 12th topics as soon as i will be taught in new session) Tmh , Arihant publication or any other u want to suggest.I want to solve one book completely so please tell me the best .... and solving one book would be enough or should I go for 2or 3 books for securing rank in top 10.

Bhaiya! Pls help me I spoiled my 11 standard, now in 12th, pls guide me about what should be my strategy to cover the huge syllabus of JEE, secondly it's been a long time (After class 10) I didn't studied, now I'm trying to but unable to do so. Hi Aman bhaiya i am an ISC student and i have passed my isc exams with 93 percent but i didnt qualify jee main this year (2016) . So my parent have told me to join any decent college i get in my state and carry on my jee preparation side by side. I am just asking you if its possible to crack jee alongside the first year of college ?? Moreover i m in deep love with physics can you tell me a good engineering stream which i can opt for ???

I also needed some help with maths. my earlier teacher prescribed me cengage maths and hence i bought almost the entire series but the problem with this book is that the problems start from a higher level and in the beginning of the chapter i face many problem due to which i get disheartened. Please help me use these cengage books to the fullest as i cannot buy ther arihant series all over again

I wanted to know what procedure did you follow while solving a book. As some books are very lengthy and it takes a lot of time to attempt all the problems. So,please describe the pattern in which you solved the books.

Hi, I'm dropping a year and I'm solving Universal and ML Khanna. While solving it I get irritated easily, particularly when the question is too hard. How can I be focused?

Also in Physic's I'm solving Cengage and theory from HCV, ideally how much time should I spend on a chapter. And shall I solve questions from as well?

Hey Aman i wanted to ask you one question. If you were not able to do one problem, did you kept on trying it or saw the solution after few attempts? I am solving previous year JEE problems and sometimes it takes me more than an hour but i don't like to see the solution.I think it takes my lot of precious time and i should see the solution. What did you do in a situation like this?

sir, i am a PWD-OBC candidate. sir,i am terrible with maths but good with chemistry and physics. for chemistry i have done numerical chemistry,o.ptandan for physical, himanshu pandey for organic and r.k gupta for inorganic. for physics i have done h.c.verma,d.c pandey, plancess question bank, many objective questions.. but for maths i am only doing ncert and ncert exemplar. Can u tell me what should i do so that i safely clear my maths cutt off in jee advanced. i am just worried about mathematics. please tell me sir...

Bhaiya I do A dasgupta,Rudiments and play with graphs for mathematics;Hc Verma,DC Pandey,Iredov and Resmick Halliday(less)in physics;and Solomon and fhryle,RC Mukherjee ,NCERT in Chemistry.I am now in class 11.Apart from these I practice mcqs from Pathfinder study material. Are these enough to get within top 500 in jee advanced

Hi Aman bhaiya, I have 45 days in hand before Jee Advaced..My maths is quite weak and in Mains paper I was able to solve only 5 questions. In physics and chemistry i solved 20 each with 80% efficiency. I know the concepts in Mathematics, but fail to solve the problems, don't know why? Help me strategise my maths study for next 45 days. I am quite afraid of Algebra and Calculus. I study at Resonance, kota and thus I have my coaching notes and sheets. Please help.

Aman bhaiya , I saw your suggested books. But I am dropping for a year so please suggest me good books (one for each chapter) si that I can have a rank in top 2000. Please reply fast.

ReplyDeleteHi Aman, during your early stages did you solve each and every sum from RD Sharma or some typical problems only. RD Sharma 11 and 12 are great, but time consuming too. A little advice in this. Just 1 year left(Actually less than one year now). Never solved RD Sharma in 11

ReplyDeleteWell I never solved Rd sharma

DeleteBut I have seen that book and I believe it's the beat book for fundamentals

What I would suggest you is to solve the "solved examples" yourself at least to get an idea

thnkz. btw did u do the same??? solving the example problems of ML Aggarwal(or any other book). Just curious

ReplyDeleteIs it ok to see the solutions after trying a problem for 15 minutes

ReplyDeletehello bhaiya.

ReplyDeletei am a student of class 11 and i have given my board exams in march 2014.i am really addicted for jee advanced(i never thought of mains).when i sit to try to try and solve problems of past jee papers i found themto be a cake walk(not for maths).but when i solve aieee questions i am not able to solve it.they are long but easy.so what should i do.i want rank 1 but my parents say that you cant even qualify.i got 9.6 cgpa and people are making a fun of me.i want to clear rmo but when i see the paper,it is full of no theory and polynomials which are not a part of jee and i am blank.all people say that all those who are in top 100 air have a god gifted mind.i only study for 8 hours a day so what should i do as i have dreams of topping iitjee and getting a gold medal for india in physics olympiad.

Please mention a book for revision of maths containing certain amount of challenging problems.??

My maths is weakest and chem is good .phy is in between. Bhaiya while u were giving ur iit in examination hall when u saw a maths questions what did u think-(i have seen this question in the past, here mod is involved so I do this that..did u first have to think about it or was it easy for u just at d first sight) as there are several questions to be solved in a limited time how didi u approach for them.? Also how did u study maths(solved the examples or attempted them first without seeing solution) maths decide rank so I want to improve it

ReplyDeleteHi Aman,

ReplyDeleteAman ,

ReplyDeleteShould I order DLP or depend upon my local coaching which is not quite up to the class?

Also how good is FIITJEE and Resonance material?

A combination of DLP + local coaching would be good.

DeleteFIITJEE - tough

Resonance - up to the mark

Hello bhaiya,

ReplyDeleteI wanted to know that do the toppers like you ,of course ,solve the problems, particularlyin maths, using the traditional methods, like the normal ones we use in board exams.or do you use some other methods. Also are those different methods preplanned or you think of them on the spot as per the question.

Initially sticking to traditional methods is best.

DeleteLater when you are an expert, you may devise your own tricks and shortcuts

Hi Aman Bhaiya

ReplyDeleteI m a jee 2017 aspirant..........plz tell me which is having more weightage in jee advanced maths;

Co-ordinate geometry or permutation and combination

Plz also tell me if there is a chance for jee 2017 to be subjective?

Your first question - Well, coordinate geometry is a module, while PnC is a single chapter from algebra. Now tell me which one do you think should have more weightage?

DeleteFor your second question - give me 1 reason for me to know if JEE would be objective or subjective ?

Bhaiya should I practice subjective or objective questions first?

ReplyDeletein mathematics

Hi aman,

ReplyDeleteif u could tell me if jee 2017 can be subjective or not I will be highly obliged.....

Also can u tell me what is importance/requirement of solving past year papers of iitjee???? For example - 37 years of iitjee by arihant publications......

Hi Aman,

ReplyDeleteI am going to take jee in 2016.

ReplyDeletePlease reply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

ReplyDeleteHi Aman bhaiya

ReplyDeletei am an ISC student and i have passed my isc exams with 93 percent but i didnt qualify jee main this year (2016) .

ReplyDeleteHi,

ReplyDeleteI'm dropping a year and I'm solving Universal and ML Khanna. While solving it I get irritated easily, particularly when the question is too hard. How can I be focused?

Also in Physic's I'm solving Cengage and theory from HCV, ideally how much time should I spend on a chapter. And shall I solve questions from as well?

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

Hey Aman i wanted to ask you one question. If you were not able to do one problem, did you kept on trying it or saw the solution after few attempts? I am solving previous year JEE problems and sometimes it takes me more than an hour but i don't like to see the solution.I think it takes my lot of precious time and i should see the solution. What did you do in a situation like this?
